There are 3 main types of photo album. Choose the right style of album for your needs.
1. Slip-in These have clear pockets that you simply slip the photo into. The size of the pocket will determine the size of the photo that the album can take. The options are 6x4” (15x10cm), 7x5” (18x13cm), A4 (29.7x21cm) or A3 (42x29.7cm). Click here to see slip-in albums
2. Traditional Traditional albums have plain pages, sometimes with interleaved glassine sheets to prevent photos sticking together on opposite pages. This style of album will require some method of sticking the photo to the page. See Photo Adhesives below. Click here to see traditional albums
3. Peel-back/self-adhesive Similar to the Traditional album, this album has a self-adhesive clear sheet that peels back off the page to allow for positioning of the photo before placing the sheet back. Photos can be repositioned easily. Click here to see peel-back albums
Photo adhesives If you are buying a Traditional photo album you will need to choose a method of sticking your photos into the album. There are 3 options: A. Photo Corners Use 4 per photo, one in each corner. The photo simply slips into the corner, and can be removed. The disadvantage is that you can see the corner. B. Photo Mounts The most popular choice, these are small double-sided squares that you stick on the back, 4 per photo. Hidden but the disadvantage is that it is a more permanent solution. C. Photo Tape Like photo mounts but in a tape dispenser form, which makes it much easier to apply. Click here to see photo adhesives
Photo safety To ensure that your photo will last make sure you always choose an album that has acid-free paper or has photo safe sleeves. All our albums are acid-free and are photo-safe. (The paper in albums can contain acid and this can react with the chemicals in photographs causing premature deterioration of the photograph - not ours!)
