I ordered these notebooks because I needed something to replace my Moleskine Cahiers. I have recently switched to writing with fountain pens and found the Moleskine's were unable to take the ink without a considerable degree of bleedthrough. These Rhodia Cahiers seem to be the perfect answer. They are attractive without being too "special". This is important when you want to feel free to write a lot of rough drafts. In addition, even though they are A4 size, the soft cover and the modest page count mean that it can easily be carried around in a handbag or briefcase without weighing too much. The paper is very high quality. The ink flows easily onto the page and there is zero bleedthrough. And to get ten large notebooks for this price, seems to me to be a bargain!

Being a fountain pen writer I ordered a Clairefontaine 90 gsm A4 notebook from the Age Bag range. Whilst the product was excellent, it arrived damaged in one corner with crease marks running through all the pages. Nonetheless, I started using it and discovered that I actually preferred the Rhodia 80gsm paper in their cahier notebooks. I phoned Bureau Direct to place an order for a set of 10 cahiers and mentioned the damage on the first order. BD not only deducted the cost of the first order, but ensured the second arrived 1 day after receipt at their premises - in pristine condition. First class service!
