Day 20 - March 20th 2013

Another of the original shops to open was on Kings Road. Yes, the Kings Road, down Chelsea way. As with all the shops opened at that time, it wasn't in quite the right place. Location, location, location. If you are thinking of opening a shop then the one piece of advice above all else is to think about your location. It's amazing how small, subtle differences in position make such a crucial difference. Anyway, the shop on Kings Road was sort of situated midway between the swanky, well-known end (i.e. up where most of the shops are, towards Sloane Square) and the other lively bit down towards Bluebird. The Kings Road was well known during the 1960's and again in the 1970's as the starting point for punk music. So to take up the musical theme, today's question is...

Q: What song lyrics talk about the Chelsea Drugstore on Kings Road?

A: You Can't Always Get What You Want by The Rolling Stones - see lyrics here and a nice piece about it here, some before and after images here and a nice internal shot here

(NB: Walking Down The Kings Road by Squire also mentions it so was allowed as a correct answer, although it wasn't the intended one)
