Beautiful hand-blown glass pens for dipping

These beautiful pens from master ink maker J Herbin are hand-blown and therefore each one is unique. The spiral grooves in the nib act as an ink reservoir and allow several lines to be written between dipping. As they are so easy to clean, they are ideal for experimenting with different inks including non-fountain pen inks.ᅠ

Key features:

  • Each pen is unique
  • Can be used with any ink
  • Four striking colours to choose from

Better for writing than drawing.
Written by Deirdre ( 26/02/2017)
This is a beautiful pen to use. The ink flows beautifully and smoothly. However, this may seem obvious, but it is very very fragile. I bought mine for drawing rather than writing and was initially delighted with it. I used it indoors for a couple of drawings and was happy with its consistent and elegant line. However, I mostly draw outside so I took it with me into the landscape, very carefully and kept it securely in it's box. Unfortunately, the nib chipped mid drawing... nothing to do with transporting it. I think perhaps it is really only suited to gentle writing... drawing maybe uses too many types of line and is too energetic.

A beautiful pen, lovely for writing but its fragility severely limits its use.
