Description

Details

The all-time classic Lamy fountain pen, first conceived in 1966, still remains true to the original form and is still adored by fans for decades since. The Lamy 2000 is the definitive pen in the Lamy range, a testimony to good design. If you are looking for a pen that says quality without having to wear a badge, this is the pen.

The 2000 pen has a fibreglass barrel which is both lightweight and strong, with a brushed staineless steel front part. It also has a very special 14kt gold medium nib which is platinum coated, and which writes beautifully.

Please see 'Refills' for information on this pen - it does not take ink cartridges. Bottled ink only.

Key features:

  • 14kt gold nib
  • Piston-filled so need for cartridges or converters
  • Lightweight Makrolon (fibreglass) barrel
  • Spring-loaded metal clip
  • Minimalist modern design
  • Choice of nib widths (note - these can't be swapped)

What we like about this item:

  • The iconic Lamy pen
  • 50 Years: 1966-2016
  • Beautiful to write with

The Lamy 2000 design can also be found in ballpoint, rollerball, mechanical pencil and multi-pen variants as well as a full stainless steel design - Lamy 2000 stainless steel fountain pen

Piston Filling

The Lamy 2000 has an in-built piston-filling mechanism which removes the need to use cartridges or pen converters. It can only use this mechanism to refill the pen and works through a hidden section of the barrel being twisted to draw ink into the pen.
