The Lamy Al-Star is one of our most popular Lamy fountain pens, part of the classic Lamy Safari family with the added luxury of an all-aluminium barrel.
A true Bureau classic
The Al-Star fountain pen forms part of the core family of Lamy pens alongside the Safari and Vista. The Al-Star is the premium pen in this group thanks to its all-aluminium barrel which comes in several coloured shades. The Al-Star comes highly recommended by so many people, from schools to fountain pen fans.
The Al-Star is a pen that writes as well as many pens worth several times the price. The added quality of the metal barrel is worth the price for the touch of quality it adds, and being an aluminium pen it is lightweight and comfortable to write with.
All pens have a chromium plated medium steel nib. This pen comes with a blue ink cartridge as standard. Designed by Wolfgang Fabian.
Look out for the limited edition colour pen and matching ink launched every year. For 2017 it is Pacific Blue, launched in February. (Sorry, these are all sold out now)

- Lead Times
Any Lamy pens that are marked as being 'special order' carry an extended lead time.
Special order pens are imported from Lamy for you. The process is that all orders in by 8.30am Monday or by 8.30am Thursday are ordered from the factory in Germany. We will usually despatch your order 4 to 6 working days later. Please note that the delivery method you choose will not shorten this lead time. Bank Holidays will also add a further delay.
For spare parts the lead time is 1-2 weeks depending on whether we have to get it from the Lamy Factory or the Lamy Repair Centre. We will aim to get the part with you as soon as possible though..
Note that if a pen shows as being 'in stock' or 'available' then this process doesn't apply. We have stock of that pen here in the UK and will despatch it according to the delivery service you have opted for.
